Lost Innocence

Reaching through the darkness
I found light in your eyes.
Searching through the Chaos
There was peace in your kiss.
No one has ever touched me that way
Looked into my eyes and gripped my soul.
I knew you would be the one 
The one to recieve the only gift I had to give.
The one I had been saving for so long, 
I wasn't sure I would be able to let go.
But, like always, you were there
Gentle, Guiding, Loving and Kind.
No turning back
Consequences I must now face.
So many feelings I have never experienced
Overwhelming.
As I lay next to you in the partial darkness,
Your face gleaming, heart beating
The gentle rise and fall of your chest as you breathe, 
I close my eyes
Mourning and Marveling
At an Innocence lost.
