Lagoon Fantasy

         we could escape
         from the mundane
            tonight
        shed our shackles
           and share
            ecstasy
         in a lagoon
        shivering together
            thrilling
            filling
            stealing eternity
            a second
            at a time

         we could cling
          to each other
          so small and awkward
        beneath the awesome
         ancient majesty
        of the Milky Way
      surrounded by inky water
      that holds infinite secrets
        two bumbling human beings
      messing up an otherwise fantastic
      seascape worthy of being captured
       on canvas by Christian Riese Lassen

           still...we are Us
       two lucky dreamers awake
               in love
            aware of it all
            attuned to each other
         and this makes us sacred
               powerless as
                   we are
