Many events have occured
Since the phonecall that brought you
Back into my life
Some I am regret
Others I long to feel again
Another one stole me away from you
Blinded by a fate so false
Deafened by the promise of romance
That never came to be
Life is a gamble...that old cliche holds true
I bet my love and lost
Trapped in romance I do not want
Chained in a friendship that isn't enough
I blame none however save myself
I acted a child and forever drove a chasm between us
While we laugh as friends
My mistakes will forever disallow
The quiet romance I miss so much
As a reminder of my failed judgment
You are embraced by another
Drunk on the scent of tulips
My station is to watch
But whatever pain it brings me
Your smile is my smile
