Love Lost Or Never Found

After all this time, in my mind
we meet again.

Two souls that once were one.

Your outward expression gives
nothing away.

I fear that I am an open book.

I disgrace myself.

Yet, I see a glistening in the 
corner of your eye.

A twinkling of some inner
happiness that I have yet to find?

The devastating sadness 
overwhelms me.

I turn away, fearful that you
will see.

Will my heart ever come to terms
with what my mind already knows?
