Make it Real

They say it takes two to tango
They say long distance relationships are hell
They say that email love isn't unfaithfulness
They say that sex chat isn't real

I haven't done the last one
And I don't agree with everything they say

but I do think this
it takes two to make it real
doesn't take a big house
doesn't take a fat paycheck
doesn't take sex
doesn't take marriage
doesn't take touch
doesn't take phone calls
doesn't take two people in the same city
doesn't take two people in each other's arms

as far as love goes
it takes two to make it real
and only two
two hearts
two wills
two wants
two people
two people make it real

if it's unconditional
it doesn't take anything
not anything at all
but two people who feel
and keep feeling
to make it real
to make it
forever

two people that want it to be
love
because love is what you want it to be
love is what you want
even when you don't think you want it
love is what you want
so bad you don't want it
love is what you want
whatever you want it to be
because love is a fantasy
it's faith and trust and friendship
and two people
that make it real

all you need is two people
to make it true
all you need is two people
to make it real

and if all you have is one person
its still love
it's just not
real

it takes two to make it real
just two people
that love each other

and when one of them decides to stop
when one of them wants to stop
so bad its not love anymore
then it isn't real

because love, like life
is what you make of it
is what you believe it to be
perception is reality
and it takes two to make it real
