moonscape

            waiting at midnight
            for my lover
            a blanket spread
            for us
            the autumn wind
            singing
            as it crosses
            the dark sky
            nestled in
            the curve of
            the crescent moon
            I watch
            my feet dangling
            from its tip
            their bare skin
            reflecting the light
            then dancing to
            hide in shadows
            my back slides
            into its hollow
            fitting perfectly
            and I warm
            in its embrace
            its silver touch
            gives me life
            to play
            to kiss
            to laugh
            while at midnight
            I wait
            for my lover
