No more suckin' lemons
In summertime
nothing quite refreshes
like a tall, cool glass of lemonade
Ironic, how something as sour as lemons
can quench a summer thirst
Lemons aren't meant to do that
...they are lemons
*They are supposed to scrunch your face all up
and strain the muscles in the back of your throat and tongue
*Bad cars are called lemons
*They put lemons in all sorts of cleaning chemicals
(WOW! That should tell you that they just weren't meant to be refreshing)
But something magic occurs when you add water and sugar to the mix
*Sugar being the contrast that balances the flavors
*Water being the neutralizer that tames and maintains them
Wallah! Now, you have a very refreshing summertime drink that you can enjoy,
bitter-sweet, yes ,but so refreshing
No more suckin' fuckin' lemons when you sweeten the mix
