Pain
Looking on she sees nothing but darkness
Looking back she sees nothing but regret
Looking upon the present she sees only pain
for every minute she opens her heart
up to someone new
without a thought
without a doubt
she never thinks twice
yet in the end she looks back
only to regret
the sweetness she has been told she displays
not caring at each moment who may walk all over her
Yet in some weird way glad for making a fool
of herself
while in the process
helping another overcome their pain
overcome some insecurity
overcome some pride
in the end making that person feel a little better
about themselves
though it may take a little piece of her
each time
she continues to open her heart to be broken
by friends
and lovers apart
all the while sacrificing herself
for the happiness of others
