Left me when that dark path crossed
and I wanted someone to hold my hands.
I want to follow
I want you to lead me
into a place I can call home
everynight
someone's hands to hold.
Sleep with me anywhere
not minding the hard ground
or the rocks underneath
because baby, there are always going to be rocks;
peas under the mattress
and I haven't met a soul yet
to bear them with a smile on his face
and a kiss on my forehead.
So if I tried to make it better with you
because YOU are who I want to lie on "peas" with,
then lead me
and I will follow.
