it's perfect

it's perfect
after four days wandering in the desert my home i'll see you 
the one i love in a place that's as much home to us as any 
place in this world and more so than most and we can catch up then
begin again and start thinkin' the thoughts and dreamin' the 
dreams and darin' the demons to pull up a chair and play cards for
a while but it'll all be ok because we'll be doin' it together
finally led into temptation talkin' at last of road trips from
matamoros to mexicali texarkana to tucumcari grand canyon to 
flaming gorge and falling stars in utah and hot fudge sundaes 
shared outside in austin on october nights before it gets cold 
while there's still time while we're still young or at least not
yet old and yes in that neon oasis city with no past only present
only future i'll tell you what i couldn't possibly say when all i
had were words and all we had was hope even though hope is more 
than enough when two believe as we believe and know as we know and
want something more than anything
in this world
