Tears flow unchecked
as I read the last words 
you will ever write to me.
You couldn't have called?
Well, neither did I.
You read the letter,
which I knew you wouldn't
understand.
I was right.
Something about 'Dear John',
when that's not what
I was trying to say at all.
Why can't you read
between the lines?
Why can't I write 
between the lines?
I thought you
were different,
that you really loved
ME!
Well, it's a double-edged
sword, really.
Can't have space and time, 
and still keep the love.
I knew you'd read the
letter, and you wouldn't
understand, 
but you'd be ok,
while I would fall apart.
(You didn't even try to change my mind)
I was right.
