Loyal Hearts
Sometimes we simply love another soul
for the most innocent of reasons.
Because of the fact that we've always found a way
to run into each other at our friends' apartments.
Because of the way that our eyes sparkle
when we spot each other across a crowded room.
Even those awkward times
that we've been forced to say goodbye,
only to realize that we'd bump into one another again soon,
destined to work on another chapter of our Love Story.
Furtive smiles and shy glances aside,
Helen of Troy would be jealous
to observe such a pair of loyal hearts.
