Situational Love
the situation calls for a tall glass
maybe a bottle, a short glass, a shot
and before long the fog rolls in
bitter...hazy...humid...cloudy
the situation deems it appropriate
for me to sit nearer and nearer
to you, with your smile
and your wink and whisper
and your face, so dithered
but i merrily smile
like I've never seen a woman before
i've never seen one as beautiful as you
stop now...we've got our goggles on
we don't know
does that matter?
every word she says makes me tremble
i want her so bad
i want to have her tonight
buy her another...and another
and finally, she smiles
"let's get out of here, sweetheart"
i agree...far be it from me to keep a woman tied to her stool
home, 5 am....
she lights a candle
she lights a cigarette
the love has been made
or was it lust?
that doesn't matter now
we've tossed and tumbled for hours on end
i'm exhausted and she, beyond the energy to suck the life out of a cigarette
feels similarly ...or at least i think she does
but, just to make sure
i take her one last time
into my arms
with force, to let her know that i'm not tired or spent
she convulses with exciting power
and in the end, she falls asleep in my arms
and i quickly am on her trail to dreams
i chase her through fields
through meadows
through forrests
all lush greenery
all lush...
it's now 11:45 am
i open my eyes to hers
surprisingly, i do remember her
i remember everything
my head isn't even throbbing
i just stare into her beautiful blue eyes
picture myself, on the sand of an ocean holding her
holding her holding me
and i smile again
and she smiles
i only wish i knew what she was thinking
that would be enough to make me king
i would rule the castle using her as my power
i would draw from her everything that was me
she leans in
presses those strawberry lips to mine
they taste of wild berries
exotic fruits
blood rushes through my body
the day begins
and later that night
we do it all again
not necessarily in a bar
we could be at home
holding hands
drunk on love
