sleep

i fell asleep
with the thought
that morning didnt' have to
come quickly and that
my eyes could stay shut
for the first time
in weeks
and maybe you would
leave me to
my ignorant peace
i dreamt of flying over
the black oceans with
the moon gently tracing
the waves with its
indigo light
i would look toward the horizon
and see the moon lifting
its eye to cast its spell
upon me, bidding me to
come to its dusty shores
how ironic that you
are the one who when we
were lying down outside
in the cold with your hands
in my hair, your mouth
in my ear that there was
a lady in the moon
and she was told to you by
three witches
and the lady would only
show herself to those
she choose to
i was choosen
but for now
i sleep
