snake
My uncle would always tease me as a child.
He had me convinced that if I soaked the stray hairs from my hairbrush in warm water overnight, they would turn into snakes.
He also told me that these snakes would then rise up to eat the words of humans.
He said that we were all alloted a certain number of words at birth and when we used up all our words, we would turn into snakes that would then turn into hairs, that would again turn into snakes which would eat the words of other gabby individuals...
Well...that just plain scared the shit out of me and left me mute for the biggest part of my childhood.
You may ask why I bring this up now...
Well, I have just been thinking about how often I hear, "I Love You"
and it just sort of came to mind...
