My Love is Like a Steak

funny how you find out you really wanted the steak
when you already traded it in for the turkey
and the ham
and the roast beast.....
but now when you ask to have the steak back
you find out it's burnt
and smoked
way too overcooked for your taste
and it's different on the inside
much tougher than it used to be
but you still crave that steak
the way it used to be, knowing it's too late for that
and you really don't love the turkey (you realize just in time)
never did care much for the ham
that roast beast was undesirable, too
so instead you just starve yourself
and wait for another steak to stroll by
