time, no more
time is indifferent
to lovers' needs
showing no mercy
hearing no pleas
for more of it
seemingly
ticking away faster
in the presence of lovers
than at any dull moment in time
disclosing its power
with every chime
in a guilt-ridden reminder
of indiscretion
cruely halting nature
with nature
and always surviving as the fittest
picking the most hellacious times and places to do so
here on a sunset bay with you
on the first anniversary of our love
time is pounding its beefy chest
and it is here, in your arms
that i wish to stay
where the orange-river skies
pronounce the night
and melts the light of day
time, no more!
