As we walked through the park the other day
all the birds knew just when to sing
And every flower bloomed before us
All the little children gazed at us
and offered us their lollipops
While their grammies winked,
nodding their heads in approval
Even the man sweeping the walk
smiled loud enough to let us know
that he knew
and that it was A-OK with him
I had never seen the Sun quite so bright
nor, the sky such a pretty shade of blue
And every blade of grass stood green and tall
like soldiers saluting US
So, even the silent world knew...
We didn't have to proclaim our love
We didn't have to say a word
Our love spoke for itself
