Truly, Madly, Deep

Too long have my love and I been parted
fingers long to wander through your hair
arms grow cold without you there to fill them
I cannot gaze on eyes that are not there

I go to meet my lover in the garden
tonight when others fall to sleep's embrace
a blanket spread among the moon lit flowers
waits for us in this our secret place

Through the shadows foot steps now approach me
star light in my eyes and on your skin
falling into you I'm lost completely
in your arms I find myself again

Whisper to me softly, words like kisses
seeds sown long ago ready to reap
petals falling from your lips console me
brush away the tears that lovers weep
bare your soul to me and ask the question

    Do I love you?

                    Truly,

                           Madly,

                                   Deep.
