Understanding Words

You never understood;
my best expressions come
in words.
But how far can words go?
They didn’t come easy 
this time, but you
will read the letter
and you won’t understand
how hard it really was.

You won’t understand;
a few weeks ago
I was packing my bags,
on my way to start our
life together,
and now the bags
are put away.
Where are those words?

You won’t understand;
thinking I don’t love
you enough,
when it might possibly
be that I love you
too much.
Too many cliches.

You won’t understand;
letting you go was both
the easiest and the
hardest thing I have
ever done.
What words to express that?

You can’t understand;
I live with words,
my actions, feelings,
my entire being in words,
and when I need them most,
I am deserted.

I’m sorry I can’t 
make you understand;
The words just aren’t there.
