For You

To most people you could be just another person.
And in their eyes they see
only the creek of light from the open door.
Yet to me, you are my light, my hope.
The warm greeting at the end of a burdening day.
Your precious smile,
and the eyes that see me for who I am.
Never expecting, but always hoping
that you love me as much as I love you.
Prideful my soul is of your growth into
a woman, STRONG yet gentle.
You are the sanity that balances my troubled heart,
and the love that keeps me refreshed.
Ungrateful I am, a poor brother.
