Somewhere along the line
we lost sight of how much
territory there still of us
left to discover
how much our hearts loved to explore
we became too accustomed to
rhythms of a comfortable life
that we eventually forgot the tune
There is no sheet music for this
no way to pick up those
much beloved riffs from where
we laid them aside
so we must improvise a new tune
in the same key
of our love,
for we still know how
to play I love you
in every song
