Regrets Beware!

I've lived my life
as many must try,
trudging through the 
trenches, casting regret
aside.
Rationale has won out
a time or two,
bringing with it
what ifs that
were long ago forgotten.
And there have been
times when I have
thrown caution to the
wind, watching my 
decisions flutter like
cards in a game of 52 pick-up.
I have drunkenly 
played Life's slots,
depositing dream after
dream and hoping 
for the big win.

And then you came along.

And I weighed my options.
And it turns out that
Stepping off the cliff
look a hell of a lot better
than hiding in the ditch.

So Regrets Beware!
Rationale can go to hell
and Love can suck the
life out of me.
Tha man in my closet
has taken an extended
leave of absence,
and I'll be damned
if you end up
buried deep beneath
the skeletons he lives with!
