loving the rain
I've always loved
the sound of a steady soaking rain
its novelty will never wear thin
and so it is with my
devotion to you
you have not finished loving me
today, for it is not yet
the memory of tomorrow
and it is much more immediate
than the promise of tomorrow
the knowledge of this, too,
is like the rain
for this will continue love's
growing season
within me
