There Was Something Part 2
I hate these damn computers!
And I hate poor programming
and missed phone calls that
raise suspicions.
The distance thing is killing me.
After the short time in your
company, and months online,
and four hour phone calls,
my heart can hear a pin drop
wherever it is that you are.
There was something
not quite right with
the way you said my
name today, and while I
agonized over it, you
were wondering where I was.
It was a harsh tone
and I sent you four or
five messages, which I now
know you didn't get.
And when you called
and I wasn't there,
you wondered what I
was playing at.
(The distance thing is definitely killing us.)
It all could have
been avoided with
one tiny e-mail, but
that damn man had
to interfere again!
So I run to the closet
and rip open the door
to see him rocking
with barely contained mirth.
I reach in and grab him
and
shake
him.
HAHA! little man,
who's laughing now?
One day, little man, you'll live in the
gutter where you belong.
