Untitled (until I think of one)
A warm breeze slips
gently through the open
window, carrying with
it the scent of jasmine
and hyacinth.
It softly ruffles the
sheet over my weary
body, bringing to mind
a memory of you.
But aren't they all of you?
My heart longs for
it's companion beat
steadily searching
for the soothing sound
of indrawn breaths
that lull a restless
soul to sleep.
They say home is where the heart is.
You bring peace to me
as I give in to the
need to love you.
You take me to the moon
and back, making me weak
with your smile.
I tremble with your touch
and ache with the slightest
thought of never again
being in the shelter of
your arms.
Life interferes, keeping
us apart. But until
the gods intervene
and we are together again
the memory of you
will keep the doubts at bay
and sleep will come once more.
