when you lie

you think i'm too dumb to even know
you haven't sense enough to realize
it is you i'm hiding from
i guess,
i just don't want you to know
...that it hurts me
when you lie ,so
i don't let it show
when you lie
you tear my heart apart inside
and the words you speak
each day
gets so hard to justify
because there's no truth
to the words that i'm being told
when you lie to me
and promise me the world
when you lie
and you look at me so real
like an angel in the heavens
with spun words
of silken thread
it makes me
want to break down and cry
'cause i see our love is being maimed
