Careless Whispers at Night
Lock tight these betraying lips tonight,
For what but a careless whisper could tear down
The mansion of my heart.
Unintended Words with Attendant Consequences
One word
Two words
Three words are the prophesy of my resurrection
But I remain afraid to utter them.
I
Love
You
There they are, freely given, unforced by my dichotomous heart.
And now, my soul having writ a careless whisper,
Must move on.
And my traitorous hand having writ the words,
Must be still.
Fear need not intrude here,
For even a careless whisper has power.
And having gained your love,
My heart having writ a new song, will move on in unison from here.
