I Think About You
I think about you when I'm sweatin'
at the body shop on hot afternoons...
I think about you when the torque wrench slips
or the paint job goes bad...
You're the reason for the first beer of the evening--
and the last.
You're more important to me than all my velvet Elvis
paintings.
And that's sayin' something.
Which is all I'm tryin' to do--
say the words that are on my mind.
But they come out all jumbled
and soundin' like an Elvis song.
(Late Elvis.)
(The King always ruled, but I like those rhinestone jumpsuits.)
Which makes me think of Vegas,
and rhinestone cowboys,
and all-you-can-eat buffets.
Oh, and you too!
See,
words are no damn good.
Nothing but trouble.
I am a simple man in love with a woman who is not simple.
God and Elvis help me.
