Love is a funny thing

Love is a funny thing
It can make you float 
Way up high
On a cloud of happiness
Or it can bend you, break you
And bring you crashing down
All the way to your knees.

I have been hurt
As you know well
Many times in my life
My heart stomped on
And beaten beyond recognition.

Yet now, with you
All that hurt heals
My heart no longer feels bruised
Due to your wonderful love
Running through my veins.

I know that you are healing also
That you too have had a beaten heart
And drawn away from love
From it's risks, but also it's happiness.

So in turn I offer you my love
To heal your wounds
To help your pain
And to let you feel
What your love feels like to me.
