The Negatives of Her Photograph

She has her smile
Turned toward the camera (not you)
Just posing perfectly in your life.
While you can't take your eyes of her
Arms draped intimately over summer tanned legs.
I am almost obsessed with knowing-
What did you say to make her smile like that
before the flash went off?
I am staring at one frozen memory
incensed that it even exists beyond my knowledge
in your mind.
I wonder if you see her in your distant reminisces
as beautiful as she is in my imagination.
I wonder what you hold back 
about these Kodak moments.
