You're packed and ready to go
As soon as the word 'forever' enters the picture
(I know, it's a scary word)

You freely use the word love,
both giving and accepting it.
(how very generous you are)

So how can you say you're scared to get too close?
Sure you've been hurt before.
(haven't we all?)

She tore your heart in two.
But how can you say you're scared
(isn't it a little late for that?)

Before you've given me a chance
To take out my needle and thread
and sew your heart back together?
(one stitch at a time, I'm learning too.)
