In Vain
Oh, the way he talked, may have been confused,
The things he may have said, obviously mislead you,
It's a true triumph, the way he conquered his fears,
The way he stopped you in your tracks and brought your world to tears,
Simply, undeniable,
Unrequited love...
That he showed to her...
Soon, in the dark of night, he would lie awake,
And wonder where the blue skies went,
Squinting at the moon....he only wanted you....
He only wanted you...
But you were SO gone, in your own world,
Your little fancy world,
And dreams decease, when children never play,
That was him that day...when he only wanted you...
Simply, undeniable,
Unrequited love that he showed...
Open, like so few before, as special as he was,
You left him crying...
Queen, he'd call you, queen forever and a day,
But this you didn't want...and yet...he still waits...
Simply, undeniable, unrequited love,
That he showed in vain...
(Despite the popular belief,)
("Hopeless romantic" is just a term to describe the broken hearted...)
