THIS LITTLE BIRD
I HAVE KNOWN THIS LITTLE BIRD FOR A LIFE TIME, AND SHE COULD SORE ABOVE THE CLOUDS WITH JOY IN HER HEART AND COULD CHIRP SO LOUD SO THE PEOPLE AROUND HER COULD SHARE IN HER HAPPINESS AND FIND COMFORT BENEATH HER WINGS.
THIS LITTLE BIRD HAS NOT GONE THROUGH LIFE WITHOUT HER UPS-AND-DOWNS, BUT SHE ALWAYS FOUND THE STRENGTH TO DRAW OFF OF THAT HAPPINESS TO RISE ABOVE THE STORM AND FIND A SAFE PLACE TO SETTLE IN TIL THE STORM BLEW OVER.
MUCH TIME HAS PASSED AND THIS LITTLE BIRD HAS BECOME WEAK AND ILL. SHE CAN NO LONGER FIND COMFORT OR PEACE. SHE HAS BEEN PUT INTO A CAGE WHERE SHE WONDERS AROUND TRYING TO FIND A COMFORTABLE POSITION TO REST HER WEAK AND WEARY BODY, NIBBLING ON CRUMBS FIGHTING TO STAY ALIVE. HER CHIRP IS NOTHING BUT A MEER PEEP.NO ONE CAN HEAR HER AS SHE CRYS OUT FOR
HELP. SHE LIES IN HER CAGE AND FROM TOTAL EXHAUSTEN SHE FALLS IN TO A DEEP SLEEP AND FINDS HERSELF SOARING ABOVE THE CLOUDS AND LANDS ON A ROCK RIGHT AT THE EDGE OF A LAKE, IT'S SO PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL.
SHE SITS THERE FOR ALONG TIME AND LETS THE TRANQUILLITY SET IN. SHE FINDS JOY AND HAPPINESS ON THAT ROCK THAT LIVES INSIDE OF HER, SHE HAS FOUND THAT SAFE PLACE THAT SHELTERS HER FROM THE STORM.
SOON SHE IS AWAKEN TO FIND HERSELF BACK IN HER RATTLED CAGE PACING AROUND IN CIRCLES, SHE CAN NOT EVEN FIND THE STRENGHT OR ENERGY TO MAKE A PEEP. IN SILENCE SHE SITS LOOKING OUT AND ONLY THE TEARS CAN EXPRESS WHAT SHE IS FEELING NOW. HER LEGS ARE TOO HEAVY TO RUN FROM THE STORM AND HER WINGS ARE TOO WEAK TO FLY FOR SHELTER.
THIS LITTLE BIRD MAY NOT MAKE IT, BUT SHE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE ROCK AND THE PEACE THAT IT GAVE HE
