A fool no more.

I was a fool once.

The gift you offered me I took too lightly.

Time, the leveler of all lives has shown me my error.

I have no hope that gift will ever be offered again,

But if it were, there would be a different man in my shoes.

The old one thought only of himself, and what he thought would

please him most went far against the grain of what you are.

The new one knows far better.

Were that gift offered today

He'd break the gates of Hell wide open

for one sweet taste of you.

No other face or voice or form

could ever please him more.

He'd bind you tight in bonds of desire

and hotly hold you helpless in chains

you would so willingly forge yourself

because of the passion and compassion that

flowes from him like water from a distant crystal lake.

With the promise of your lips alone, you could lure him

With the tender vision of your form you could hold him

With the whisper of his name, your voice could enslave him

With all his life, and all his hopes, and all his dreams

You alone would own him, if..

that gift were offered again today.

The new man waits.  The skies above him are strewn with the

stars that spell your name in breathless diamonds of desire.

The earth he walks on crackles with the dreams he has cast aside

to live one dream with you.

He eats and sleeps and breathes the silent echo of your name

and your absence from his world is like the absence of the sun

His moon, the hope that you might one day come again.

I  was a fool once.

I am a fool no more.
