goodbye
i'm afaid that goodbye is all we have in common anymore
it's just a word
but we say it so damn much.
it's taken on it's own life
and i just want it to go away.
it's become more than something spoken
when i see you, i read it in your eyes
before anything else.
we both know that it will be the end of us
when all we're saying is goodbye
and the hellos, the good mornings, the i love yous
they are left unspoken.
