The Miracle of Your Smile
The miracle of your smile
warmed me tonight.
Your words, like tender fingers
stoked the memories, stirring
waking,
making me breathe.
The thought of you in candlelight
and little else
soothed and moved and cured
the aching in me.
We are miles apart
but I can feel
the gentle heat of you
raising the temperature.
I look into my minds eye
and see the frantic,urgent motions
the rise and fall of our bodies
taste the salt of your skin.
Your shapely, satin shoulders
bunching, your nails
dimpling my chest in passion
your hair cascading in my face.
We twine
the ancient dance again
kisses raining
touches torching everywhere
Still more, dear god
forever so
just time for breath
then breathless once again.
I can see the wine glisten
coursing down your breast
to that sweet chalice
nature has built.
I will drink
not for my thirst alone
but to your hearts desire
and to your rapt and final pleasure.
Lie with me then in darkness
for we have loved beyond
the life of candles
we do not need them now.
The sounds I hear
the words and sighs and cries
are yet to be real
but oh, real they will be.
Your words alone
bebuilt this dream
and I will see it dawn
in the miracle of your smile.
