aftermath
we are gathered here
on this sad occasion
to honor a man
who couldn't be saved
poet artist extraordinaire
lover , laughter without care
found we so
after ardent search
shudder we
at this sight we found
single and living
made one mistake
teased the women
with his pal jake
Run! we married
advised to he
run fast, run far, run free
yet paused for
on brief stoppage of feet
to help an ole lady
cross the street
this was the last we saw of him
till this day we finally found
handcuffed shriveled to a bed
in the fanciest hotel in town
and on his poor
worn out hand
was welded a promise ring
to tight to remove
so his days of single
shorly numbered
{though he thinks quite different}
us married know
so we the married
are here tonight
to honor him single
with tearful advice
on the left hand carry
over the shoulder hold
one of the best ways to carry
his upcoming chain and ball
