Daffodils and Moonstones
My favorite jewel you ask
Well now, let me see
Diamonds always stand out
But never hold the key
You could wrap me in pearls
I would not mind
But no, still not what I need
Sapphires, ah, the color of my eyes
The antiques ones are best
Always wrapped in white gold
Emeralds, I love, but too soft
The way that I love to whirl around
The jewel that’s really me
Simple as my love of daffodils
Is a jewel called moonstone
The clear ones are quite rare
But when touched by the right hand
Glow different shades of blue
Like a sky blue egg to hold
A twinkle from Santa’s eye year round
Blue sky peeking through clouds
Or a twinkling star to wish upon
On a cloudy night
Bring me Daffodils and Moonstones Darling
You’ll know the heart of me
Daffodils and Moonstones
Then you will hold the key
