Days Like these

Days like these

On the day after the storm
Something else settles
Other than the wind
The shadowed warmth
Of the precarious sun
Falls into crevices
Along the drawn out dusty road
Leading to the tranquil
Whispering waters of the stream
The day is uneasy
Just the way I like them
They allow my mind to wander
And my heart to seem
For once at ease
The hanging scent of rain
And the lingering breeze
Barely brushing the hair
Away from my tear stained
Cheeks,
Its something about these
Days, days like this one
Where the mugginess
Seems to match that of my heart
Not that I am sad
Just waiting.
For whatever it may be to
Take away this uneasy loneliness
That broaches itself upon me
Come days like these
