Throwaways

Shadowing your steps
Two by two
Following the path set by you
But you walked right past
That beggar man
Hand held out for a coin, a touch
And I wonder
Is your heart really closed that much

Head cast down
Lost to the cause
You fail to see the boy crying and lost
But you walked right past
That child today
Reaching for your hand to lift him up
But I wonder
Can a hardened soul even drink from that cup

Thrown to the dust
Like smoke to the wind
My heart bleeds for your blindness within
As you walk right past
Society’s throwaways
With never a though of the cost to your soul
Making me wonder
Could you take my love, could it make you whole?
