When we where together last, you peeped at my toes
and laughed at the pink polish you found there
"I thought you didn't 'do' pink?"
"I don't. Pink is for girls -- but I thought you'd like it, I thought you liked it when I painted my toe-nails."
"looks like primer paint" you smiled
and even though Cindy Crawford had convinced me that it was the latest fashion shade --
