I heard an Angel cry
I heard an angel cry
A sad, painful weeping
Smothering in the dark
And I felt a misterious pain
Flowing through my heart
Softly took him in my arms
And kissed his tears away
Why he had cried
I never asked, he never said
A love so true we shared
And I never heard him cry
But a dark sadness
In his eyes he tried to hide
One day I saw a tear
Flowing from his eye
And I realized inside
That I'd have to let him fly
I gave him back his wings
Without a word he flew away
And with his won liberty
My losing heart did break
Today I hear an angel cry
Inside I know it's him
But I ignore him, close my eyes
Knowing that love does not suffice
To break his wings apart
And let me in his heart
