Love at the Car Wash

LOVE AT THE CAR WASH

He came to me with bucket and pail, puppy dogs tail
sponge and suds, soap and foam, to my home
Water  wax  and  windex to windows and wheels
Whatever he feels
Brillo to scrub the grease and grime all in time
To wash away the stain
Wash away the pain

With hammer and nail to fix the trail of broken things
Replace the broken glass, he does it all so fast
His saw cutting to the quick
Patching open wounds, gluing torn , worn, places
The house aching for his healing hands
He climbs his ladder toward my inner chambers
Measuring me with his Stanley tape, his superman cape
Calculating the cost to repair the tear
To fix and mend the broken parts
To fix and mend my broken heart
