The Garden Of the Imagination
The Garden Of the Imagination
Something beautiful grew
A vivid, imaginative love
Growing through the vines of friendship
It blossomed in the soft light from above.
The bud was like the love itself
Delicate, dependent, and sheltered from cold
It sought a place in the turmoil of life
A place where it could settle and take hold.
It was nurtured in a secret place
In a garden created with love, by imagination
It took root in a forbidden space
Where life ceased and devotion became perfection.
But now there is danger in paradise
Jealousy and fear threaten loves leaves
Rivals compete for the glorious sun
Until the bloom must whither and recede
But this is loves garden; this is loves fight
It will not be trampled or shielded from light
It needs the caress and the breath and touch
Of fingers and words whispered softly, so much.
