How Did You Know

You came to me, found me here, found me hiding in the shadows You found me crying, once again broken, bent and torn Smothered, scalded, and tossed aside... And you gathered me up in your safe and tender embrace Somehow, you healed the broken parts of me Straightened that which was bent Peiced together those torn and ragged tatters of my soul You gave me release from that feeling of being smothered All of your gentle words, soothed the scalded fragments of my heart And, with painstaking care, you retrieved for me, all that I had lost How did you know, from so far away? How did you know my pain, my trouble, my need for you? You rushed to my side, I could not believe it... I was dying inside, and you repaired the damage How did you know? I felt the world closing in, I felt the world come tumbling down I felt alone...in this house Then you came, with that heavenly smile Without a word from me, lifted that burden, layed heavy on my weary shoulders You saved me, do you know that? Your love pulled me through...
