iceberg

when you sail by the old lanes
look out for me
drifting atop an iceberg
tormented by the sea
merciless, stormy sea
my love's that iceberg
keeping me afloat
you'll think it smaller
than what it used to be
used to be a mountain you see
rooted firmly to your heart
until you threw it all away
don't think it less
the bulk is underneath
the merciless, stormy sea
cold out here i know
but it's my only
solid ground.
