Scratched Knees

When I fall, scratch a knee, he picks me up again.
But love, not today; leave me rest awhile.
It's raining and dreary, I hear the beating train.
When I fall, scratch a knee, he picks me up again.
The tracks lead nowhere, this is the way I came.
No, not today; let me sleep upon the rail.
When I fall,  scratch a knee, he picks me up again
But love, not today; leave me -  rest awhile.
