last night I was so sure it was you

Last night I was so sure it was you…

It was you last night…I remember…I woke up and there you were…
Your lips inches away from mine…and I felt kissed, thoroughly and totally kissed
So I reached for more…and again and again…it was finally really you…
Your body moving like it used to…so familiar, so like finally coming home to Where I belong…held in place with your body over mine…
Same scent… that makes me cry if I happen to remember…
Same eyes… full of promises of things to come …eyes full of love and on fire With longing…we kissed for ages…you always start out so slow…
Felt the buildup of passion… and wanted more, more, more…
And feelings unfelt in so long awoke, and found it was you…and remembered And my heart sang for joy…at last, back to life…back to wanting to live…
And nothing was wanting…everything was right in paradise…

Suddenly you were gone. Suddenly it was cold. No, no, it can’t be…
I could swear you were just here… but…I had only awoken in a dream…
I console myself saying it seemed so real because you feel the same way too…
And wished yourself here with me… And because you and I both wished so hard,
Somehow I felt you…It must be that. It was that. It makes sense.
But today your friend calls and tells me again of your longhaired girlfriend.
Still, I couldn’t have imagined it. You wanted to be here…that’s why it happened Like it did…I’m sure you woke up in the same dream at the same time too…
Or maybe I just want to keep on believing my idea of how it seemed so real…
It has to be that way, or else, the happiness will go away again and I am trying so Hard to hold on to it…I wish it would stay for a little while more… it’s been Years since I last smiled…years since I had you to hold me tight…
