only one day
one day away from you was all it took,
for me to realize the man i'd overlooked,
this man so kind, gentle and sincere,
i would never again have to live from tear to tear.
he would give me all i ever needed,
for me to be his girlfriend he always pleaded.
he would tell me how perfect it would be,
if by chance it could ever be just him and me.
the day came when i decided to go,
my life was headed for an all-time low.
i really wish i could've stayed,
for now i realize it was an awful mistake....
